geothermal hot springs

A true ‘Hot Spring’ is considered to be a spring of geothermal water that has been heated naturally and emerged from the earth’s crust, just like the water we will soak in at Peninsula Hot Springs.

"Everything about this retreat was indulgent & enjoyable."

Location

MORNINGTON PENINSULA, VICTORIA

Peninsula Hot Springs is an award-winning geothermal hot springs and day spa based on the Mornington Peninsula. Founded by brothers Charles and Richard Davidson in 1997, the inspiration for the project began when Charles visited several hot springs while living in Japan in 1992. With a mission to create experiences where people relax in nature and connect with the deep well of their being. They are inclusive, creative and innovative, loving and respectful to our communities and to nature, and they have uncompromising integrity – being true to their word and take responsibility for all actions and impacts on society and the environment.

Mineral bathing is a recognised science. Balneology is the scientific study of the therapeutic benefits of naturally occurring mineral waters, an ideal way to rejuvenate.

Did you know;

  • The water that surfaces in the hot springs is so deep it is more than 10,000 years old.

  • The water rises 637 metres from below The Cups in Rye.

“One of the most valuable things we can do in life is to learn deep relaxation - making an effort to spend some time every day quieting our minds in order to create inner peace and better health”

Why is rest important

The inability to rest effectively can lead to poor sleep due to our bodies and minds being overstimulated. This creates stress within the system.

Many people suffer chronic low-level stress and think it's normal.

Chronic stress contributes to;

- high blood pressure,

- causes brain changes that may contribute to anxiety, depression, and addiction,

- promotes the formation of artery-clogging deposits,

- contributes to obesity, both through direct mechanisms (causing people to eat more) or

indirectly (decreasing sleep and exercise).

Many people suffer chronic low-level stress and think it's normal.

“Wallis is a professional & warm presenter with a great yoga style & hands that know exactly where to assist you! Her attention to detail in every aspect of our retreat was impressive."
