It’s that special gift that only you can give yourself.
It could be a time-out cup of tea at your work desk, a walk around the block. It might be a run at the end of the day, or when you first wake up. During these moments, ask yourself: Do you ever truly, really, switch off?
I know that I have to be so disciplined to allow myself to just be. To give myself permission to slow down, to ask my mind to be quiet, to block out all the external influences, sounds, demands - and my own inner voices - all of them. It’s hard, I know, but it doesn't need to be.
When you're taking time for you, the key word is ALLOW. Allow the thoughts to be there, perhaps allow yourself not to follow them. It's easy to berate ourselves, and say 'stop thinking', but this is actually impossible! So, be kind to you, without setting yourself up for failure.
Carve out a little ME TIME in your day today. And get more generous as the weeks go on. You'll find you are more productive, have more energy and space for those you love, and importantly, you'll be nurturing a deeper sense of calm within yourself with every moment you keep for you.
